Rebecca Peters is the DHS Regional Attaché with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Agent Peters began her career in federal law enforcement 25 years ago in 1998 with the former U.S. Customs Service in Laredo, Texas, conducting investigations of narcotics and weapons smuggling, money laundering, cybercrimes, and import/export fraud. From 2003-2006, Ms. Peters served as a member on the founding FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force for Laredo, Texas as well as a certified Senior Firearms Instructor and a Field Training Officer. Ms. Peters has been the recipient of numerous awards including the DHS/HSI/ICE Enforcement Woman of the Year and the World Customs Organization International Day Award in recognition of her contributions to HSI and exemplary performance.

In 2009, Ms. Peters was promoted to a Supervisory Special Agent, where she supervised numerous units and taskforces to include the Human Trafficking Unit, the North Texas Trafficking Task Force, the Worksite/Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit, the Investigative Services Unit, the Asset Forfeiture Program, the Seized Property Program, the Firearms Program, the Technical Enforcement Operations Program and Counter-Proliferation Investigations at the HSI Dallas office in Irving, Texas. Ms. Peters also accepted a special assignment at HSI HQ under the DHS Joint Task Force Investigations and HSI Domestic Operations from 2015-2016 as well as, served in an Acting Assistant Special Agent in Charge position for the HSI Dallas office. In August 2020, Ms. Peters accepted the position of Assistant Attaché in Abu Dhabi, UAE and was promoted in May 2021 to her current position as the DHS Regional Attaché.

Ms. Peters is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Ms. Peters is also a member of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, Women In Federal Law Enforcement Foundation, and the ICE Academy Toastmasters Organization, where she received Instructor certification.
