As a Leader with the Financial Intelligence Unit, Stephenie is responsible for engaging United States law enforcement and other key stakeholders. She is focused on developing WU’s extensive law enforcement network and fostering collaborative relationships.
Stephenie is leveraging her 25-year law enforcement career to further the Western Union Financial Intelligence Unit mission. In 2022, she retired as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge for Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) where she oversaw investigative initiatives and operations targeting cross-border criminal organizations exploiting America’s financial, trade, and travel systems. Prior, she served as the HSI Senior Advisor to U.S. Northern Command where she enhanced her agency’s interoperability with the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. She also cultivated a global network of law enforcement and private sector partners while leading HSI’s worldwide financial investigations portfolio from her headquarter role as the chief of Illicit Finance and Proceeds of Crime Unit.
Stephenie started her law enforcement career as an Idaho State Trooper and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Boise State University. Additionally, she completed a Key Executive Leadership program through American University.
