Spivack, CAMS
Matthew Spivack is a Senior Policy Advisor at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and he is responsible for the wildlife trafficking portfolio in the Office of Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes (TFFC). Matthew is a member of the U.S. delegation to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and he co-led the U.S. project team for the FATF initiative on financial flows linked to environmental crimes. Through the FATF, Matthew also works with jurisdictions to address weaknesses in their anti-money laundering/counter-financing of terrorism/counter-proliferation financing (AML/CFT/CPF) regimes. His TFFC portfolio previously included United Nations counter-terrorism issues, outreach to the charitable sector, and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). Prior to his role at U.S. Treasury, Matthew managed a strategic planning process and established a training program as an Assistant Vice President on Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management AML Risk team. Previously, Matthew was based in London, UK, where he directed research at a firm that advises multinational corporations operating in high-risk jurisdictions. He started his career with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Enron Task Force.
