Brannigan
Jeffrey (“Jeff”) M. Brannigan serves as the Deputy Special Agentin-Charge for HSI Denver. Jeff previously served as the Regional Attaché for HSI in the Levant and Northeast Africa, based in Tel Aviv, Israel. He was as an Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge in Fresno, California, and as a Supervisory Special Agent with HSI in San Jose, California.
Jeff also worked as a National Program Manager and acting Section Chief at HSI’s Cyber Crimes Center and at the CBP National Targeting Center where he engaged in program development focused on cyber capacity building, investigative support, and collaboration with CBP in targeting suspicious maritime cargo using novel data sets.
In 2015, Jeff was detailed to main DHS to serve as the Senior Advisor and de-facto Chief of Staff to the Deputy Under Secretary for Cybersecurity & Communications (at what is now CISA).
Jeff began his professional career as a Special Agent in Buffalo, New York, assigned to conduct international narcotics smuggling and money laundering investigations. Jeff also served with the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) in Hoboken, New Jersey, conducting internal misconduct investigations. Jeff’s government service began pre-DHS with the Treasury Department as an intern at the US Customs Service.
He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, a Master of Science in Banking and Financial Services Management from Boston University, and is pursuing additional graduate work focused on international security issues.
