Saitoti has over two decades experience in public service mainly in the National Security sector. Saitoti was appointed Director General Financial Reporting Centre in July 2017. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Senior Security Advisor to Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Interior (2015 –2017). His previous service includes 15 years in the National Intelligence Services, where he served in various capacities mainly in the Counter Organized Crime as; Head -Counter Organized Crime Unit, Head -Counter Narcotics Unit, Head -Counter Terrorism Unit and the lastly Assistant Director, Counter Organized Crime Directorate. Prior joining NIS, he served for 9 years in the Kenya Defence Forces retiring with the rank of Captain. Saitoti is a recipient of the Commonwealth Chevening Fellowship and the UN Peace Keeping Medal.
In his position as DG FRC, he is the Secretary to the National Anti-Money Laundering Advisory Board and the Ministerial Committee on the Combating of Financing of Terrorism.
Since 2004, Saitoti has also been a member of the National Task Force on Anti Money Laundering as well as a member of Task Force of Senior officials of Eastern and Southern Africa Anti Money Laundering Group. Saitoti as Director General of the Centre was the National Coordinator of Kenya’s NRA and Mutual Evaluation which were carried out in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
Holds a BA in International Relations and Diplomacy, Diploma in Security and Strategic Studies and on-going MA in International Relations (National Security & Foreign Policy major).
