XU Ling, Director of TRAFFIC China, leads the strategic directions and operations of TRAFFIC in China, which are focused on the legal, sustainable, and equitable trade of wild species. With a rich experience spanning over 20 years in field research on illegal wildlife trade across China, Southeast Asia, and Africa, Xu Ling, with her team, has been a key figure in providing technical support to the Chinese government in improving legislation and law enforcement efforts related to wildlife conservation. She has also been instrumental in fostering active cooperation with various private sectors, including finance, the Internet, transportation, timber, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, to prevent and combat wildlife trafficking. In a recent collaboration, ACAMS and TRAFFIC launched a Simplified Chinese version of the 'Ending Illegal Wildlife Trade: A Comprehensive Overview ' certificate in July 2022. This initiative aims to address the gaps in awareness within financial systems that criminals exploit to facilitate the movement, concealment, and laundering of proceeds from illegal wildlife trade.
