This topic has come forth as a result of the recent consultation on draft AUSTRAC guidance on providing financial services to customers assessed to be higher risk e.g. remitters, digital currency exchanges, FinTechs.

Consultation on draft guidance: Providing financial services to customers that financial institutions assess to be higher-risk | AUSTRAC
It has been a long time coming; however, this consultation seems to demonstrate that AUSTRAC is committed to financial inclusion, on the basis of both financial institutions and higher risk businesses working together in and around the application of a risk-based approach.
This session is designed around a well-rounded panel of participants, to provide the differing viewpoints on the issue, from the practicalities of the guidance to the challenges it may pose. The panel will include the perspectives from a law firm, a FinTech, and a financial crime consultant/practitioner.
