Assistant director of market conduct and AML compliance officer, Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, Milwaukee, she has been actively leading the company’s AML program and is the chairperson of the AML Committee which has enterprise representation from the insurance, broker-dealer and trust company. In addition to her AML responsibilities, she oversees all sales practices complaints and investigations, complaint monitoring and reporting for the enterprise, FINRA filings and responses to inquiries from securities regulators regarding associated persons. In that role, she is responsible for all proactive regulatory and legislative outreach in the region. Her portfolio has included close coordination with FinCEN, the Federal Reserve, FDIC, FATF, the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank on payments issues. Prior to joining PayPal, she headed the privacy function at Intuit, and the consumer and market research division at NextCard. She holds a PhD from the University of Chicago.

He built the internal financial intelligence unit, which interfaces with regulatory and law enforcement agencies. Retired postal inspector, United States Postal System, New York, he initiated the development of an automated tracking system to detect the use of postal money orders in laundering activities. As an AML liaison officer, he worked with federal agencies such as the DEA, FBI, IRS and U.S. Department of Justice to coordinate money laundering investigations and develop national AML strategies. Currently, he assists the Postal Service’s BSA compliance officer as an AML consultant and systems analyst. In addition, he co-chairs the ACAMS Annual Conference Task Force.

Chief of the New York State Attorney General’s Money Laundering Investigations Unit and New York State Crime Proceeds Strike Force. These units are responsible for the investigation and prosecution of money laundering crimes, as well as violations of banking and tax laws. To more effectively and creatively investigate these emerging crimes, she assembled a task force consisting of federal and state prosecutors, law enforcement, and regulators. In addition, she is actively involved in educating and training financial institutions in how to better protect their organizations from financial fraud.

He is the director of AMLtrainer.com and the vice-chair of the ACAMS Metropolitan NY Chapter.

Senior consultant and head of Oracle Mantas Competency Centre, Oracle Financial Services limited (i-flex), a global technology group, based in Bangalore, India. He spearheads i-flex’s AML/Mantas initiatives, conceptualizing solutions and evolving strategies for various markets across the globe. He brings end-to-end AML solutions to worldwide banks and financial institutions, encompassing strategic consulting, assisting in drafting/review of policies and processes, training and implementation. Prior to i-flex, he worked for a leading asset management company in India where he spearheaded initiatives to develop technology solutions to minimize fraud and strengthen internal controls.

Matt Vigh, CAMS
Assistant vice president, AXA Financial, New York. He oversees the day to day AML operations for the company in identifying, monitoring, and reporting suspicious activity within AXA’s life, annuity, and broker-dealer operations in the U.S. Prior to working in an AML capacity for the company, he spent two years investigating fraud and eight years in various roles within two broker-dealer operations. In addition, he is a licensed registered representative.

Sean Watterson
Director of global monetary and financial control group, Merrill Lynch, New York, he is responsible for the development and maintenance of policies and procedures, internal controls and training for the company’s AML and economic sanctions programs. Prior, he was a senior vice president in Citigroup’s global AML group where he developed policies and performed assessments of AML programs. Previously, he served as senior counsel in the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission’s Office of International Affairs and represented the Commission as a member of the U.S. delegation to the FATF.

  Timothy White, CAMS Timothy R. White, CAMS
National risk specialist at Banker’s Toolbox, Denver, a company that offers Bank Secrecy Act and AML products to financial institutions. He is currently a member of a working group formed by the United Nation’s Al-Qaida Taliban Sanctions monitoring team. A specialist in OFAC compliance, he has addressed OFAC and BSA issues at several conferences in the U.S. and Europe, including, in June 2006, a European Union–United States workshop on Financial Sanctions and Terrorist Financing. He has also helped train Federal Reserve Bank BSA/AML specialists on OFAC compliance technologies.
